Eligibility and Selection Criteria
- The applicant(s) must be the original copyright owner of the submitted material, or authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner of the submitted material.
- The applicant(s) for SAFM MENA Edition 2023 must be of South Asian or MENA origin.
- Feature-length (running time minimum 60 minutes) film project with a director, producer and a production company attached.
- No Documentaries or Short Films will be accepted.
- Applicant(s) have to submit the proposed budget of the project. They have to fill in the budget sheet provided in the application form.
- Applicant(s) have to provide proof of at least 30 percent of the total production cost as part of the application.
- Proof of 30 percent funding can be in the form of a letter of intent from the production company on its letter head along with its official stamp.
- Applicant(s) need to provide the details of any previous film festivals/ film markets the project has been a part of.
- Projects without a director on board will not be accepted.
Rules & Regulations
- All applications must be submitted in English regardless of the language of the film.
- Shortlisted participants will be asked to send their complete scripts (with dialogues, 90 – 100 pages) within 15 days of receiving a notification from the organizer’s.
- Final projects will be decided based on the quality of the final script submitted.
- One can submit multiple projects.
- The applicant(s) cannot approach jury members and / or organizers under any circumstances during the process of submission & selection. If found guilty of the same, the respective applications will be disqualified.
- Once the project is selected, either producer or director of the project must be present in person at the SAFM – MENA Edition venue.
- SAFM – MENA Edition will provide handholding, capacity building and mentoring to the final selected film makers to create a compelling pitch presentation.
- The selected film makers will be given 15 min in total to present their project during the market. 5 Minutes (of the total 15 min) will be allotted for pitching & the remaining 10 min will be kept for Q & A session.
- The Information on the application form cannot be edited once submitted.

Final Deadline – January 18 to January 31, 2023
Submission Fee : 115 USD - Unpaid submission will not be entertained.
