Eligibility and Selection Criteria
- The applicant may be the original copyright owner of the submitted material, or may be authorised to act on behalf of the copyright owner of the submitted material.
- For SAFM – MENA Edition, Projects must either have an author of South Asian or MENA origin or the book should have a South Asian or MENA backdrop and/or characters.
- The books must be published or contract must be signed and publication date should be within the next one year.
- Shortlisted applicants will be asked to send their complete manuscript or published book within 5 days of receiving a notification from the organisers.
- Applicant(s) need to provide the details of any previous film festivals/ film markets the project has been a part of.
Rules & Regulations
- All applications must be submitted in English regardless of the original language of the book.
- Projects must either have an author of South Asian or MENA origin or the book should have a South Asian or MENA backdrop and/or characters.
- Applicant(s) can submit multiple projects.
- Once the project is selected, publisher or agent or the author must be present in person at the SAFM – MENA Edition venue.
- SAFM – MENA Edition will provide handholding, capacity building and mentoring to the final selected participants to create a compelling pitch presentation.
- SAFM – MENA Edition will choose the final and maximum 5 books to be pitched by each author/publisher.
- The selected applicants will be given 15 min in total to present their project during the market. 5 Minutes (of the total 15 min) will be allotted for pitching & the remaining 10 min will be kept for Q & A session.
- The information on the application form cannot be edited once submitted.

Final Deadline – January 18 to January 31, 2023
Submission Fee : 115 USD - Unpaid submission will not be entertained.
